Waking Wonderland is a richly detailed, multisensory experience that uses interactive props, motion tracking, and spatial audio to transport audiences into fantastical spaces where they can engage with their favourite Wonderland characters.
Guests can follow the Cheshire Cat, assist the Mad Hatter in his chaotic tea factory, and come face-to-face with the Queen of Hearts in her throne room, all within an enchanting world built through countless hours of creativity and craftsmanship. Every element has been meticulously designed to fully immerse visitors in the story, leaving a lasting impression long after they exit the installation.

I served as the designer for the Waking Wonderland experience by Secret Location, determining the colour story and concept for key area of the immersive environment.
My work translated the world’s surreal, storybook atmosphere into tangible objects like merch and visual spaces, allowing guests to carry a piece of the experience with them beyond the experience.
The Space

I reimagined the merchandise for the Waking Wonderland shop to capture the experience’s wonky, surreal, and slightly unhinged charm. Drawing inspiration from its distorted storybook world, I created caricature versions of the character the captured their charm into bold recognizable versions of themselves.
To give variety, I created other illustrations that mirrored the playful chaos, bold visuals, and dreamlike tone of the environment, allowing guests to take a tangible fragment of Wonderland’s strange magic home with them.
